Kagome's Problem ch 2

Sesshomaru walked over to him, unsheathed his sword and held it to his neck.

“Come onto my lands again, Southerner, then I’ll kill you without hesitation.” He paused, “Better yet why don’t I kill you now and let the other one go to give a warning to your lord and its people.” He said with red now completely covering his eyes.

“If you kill me and my brother then it wouldn’t make a difference for there is one more heir to take our place.” Sesshomaru raised a brow at him.

‘I heard that Lord Ran did have two sons, Tiko and Rinko, but there is a three child?’

He looked down and his anger flared. Tiko had a small smirk on his face.

“Is there something the matter my Lord?” Tiko asked mockingly.

He brought up his sword and brought it down without a second of hesitation.

“STOP” a voice came from behind Sesshomaru.



Chapter 2

“Inuyasha have you seen Kagome?” Sango asked as Inuyasha approached the hut.

She began to walk over to him but stopped when a woman walked out from behind him. Sango stopped and gave a small smile but regretted it instantly. How could she have fallen for it?

“Inuyasha what is she doing here?” she asked already knowing the answer.

They stopped.

“The reason she is here is quite simple Sango. She is going to be our new shard dector. She is stronger, wiser, and better at detecting shards that Kagome is and will ever be. As of today she will be joining our group.”

Sango didn’t know what to say.

“And as for knowing where Kagome is I have no idea, she was here when I left and I expected her to be here and to be perfectly honest her not being here will make things so much easier.”

“Are you kidding?”

“No, Kagome has been nothing but a nuisance since she arrived here, she should just go home and stay there. If she had not come through the well nothing would have changed and everything would have been better that way. Here being her has caused everyone great pain. She doesn’t belong here.”

Sango just stared at him. What’s wrong with him? He wasn’t like this before he left? What’s going on.

“I can’t believe you would do that to her. Without her here you would still be stuck on the damned God tree and SHE would still be dead ..”

He growled.

“Don’t you think I know that but that fact of the matter is she is the problem, she brought the era the jewel back and she brought Naraku out of hiding. THIS IS ALL HER FAULT. EVERYTHING IS HER FAULT. SHE IS NOT A VERY GOOD SHARD DECTOR, SHE CAN’T DEFEND HERSELF, AND SHE IS NOT KIKYO!” he yelled at her.

Sango’s fists tightened and her head was bowed, her bangs covering her face, and he body slightly shaking.

“You fucking half breed bastard. Do you have any idea what you are saying?” she said through gritted teeth.

“You are willing to just toss Kagome aside so easily after all she has done for us, all she has done for you! She had done some much and asked for so little in return.”

“And! She is worthless, can’t defend herself and always needing help! We need someone who can quickly find the shards, defend herself, and be able to finish the job. It’s been 2 years since we started this jewel hunt and we are still far from finish. We lost half of the jewel because she couldn’t defend herself. It’s all her fault!”

“Damn you Inuyasha, she broke the damn curse for you, she pulled the sacred arrow that that whore standing right next to you put into you in the first place. She saved you countless times from death. Did you even think of thanking her for that? No. You thought that she was Kikyo and tried to kill her.”

“Here is how it is Sango. Kikyo is joining our group and becoming our new shard detector, Kagome, if she comes back, can stay but she will be in the way. So IF she comes back I am telling her she can either stay or go but she will not be finding shard anymore with us. She can stay here for all I care.”

Then.

“Your right Inuyasha.”

“Of course I’m right I’m never .. Wait, what?”

“Your right Inuyasha, Kagome will never be as good as Kikyo.”

Kikyo smiled.

“She will never be as good as Kikyo because she is far better than that slut standing over will ever be. Kagome is a better person and would never do anything, anything that will cause her family and friends harm; she would rather die. Unlike your precious doll. She might not be the best fighter but she is better at other things, and those things have kept all of us alive probably a lot longer than we were actually meant to. So yes Kagome will never be as good as Kikyo but she isn’t Kikyo is she?”

Inuysasha’s mouth hung open.

“She is my best friend and my only sister, she is missing, she could be in great danger and all you can think about is your fucking past time. Well I don’t know about you but Miroku, Shippou, and I are going to find our friend, shard detector or not, you should help to since it was her who saved you from that damn tree, and saved your butt on countless times from being dragged to hell, but its your choice. We leave at dawn.” And with that she left a very confused Inuyasha and a very pissed Kikyo standing at the edge of the camp.

This is not what she had planned at all.

A new scent surrounded his senses, but this scent was very familiar.

He turned slowly to the voice behind him.

He eyed the demon behind him. She had straight, long, white hair that had blue streaks, her tail was the same as her hair, and she had sky blue eyes. Her skin was cream colored. She had a white crescent moon in the middle of her forehead and two white stripes on her cheeks. She wore a dark blue sleeveless kimono that went down to the floor, it had a slit that went up past her waist, beneath the slit were tights. The front was a very low v-neck. She had a sword at her side, and one draped over her back. Over all, the entire outfit fitted her form perfectly, showed every curve of her body just right. But who noticed.

He straightened up forgetting about the other demons and continued to study the demoness.  

“You do realize that it is rude to stare?”

He couldn’t place the scent. He knew it was Inuyasha’s wench, Kagome, but the scent. It was familiar to him but he didn’t know why.

“Do you mind? Your staring is really starting to get annoying or does the great Lord Sesshomaru think he is so far above everyone else that he can stare?” She said annoyance clearly in her voice.

“Wench, do you mind? Your voice is very shrill and is hurting my ears.” He said with the same amount of annoyance.

Growls were heard all around him. He inwardly smiled but his stoic façade did not fall.

Kagome could play this game to. Her anger faded quickly and her face fell into an expressionless mask.

The brothers looked at each other. The battle for dominance has begun. Again.

Their eyes locked and the face off began.

They slowly began to circle one another. Muscles flexing and unflexing. Ready to attack in a moment’s notice.

Kagome stopped and lunged.

Sesshomaru’s eyes widened slightly, she was faster than he had anticipated. But his surprised wouldn’t last long as he dodged her attack.

Knowing that he would dodge it she flipped to the side and using a tree kicked off and attacked his side with a kick. The kick would have landed if Sesshomaru had been anyone one else.

He caught her foot in the air. But she had a few more tricks up her sleeve. She brought her free foot around aiming for his head. Which he blocked with ease. But while he was distracted with her kicks, she came around upside down and punched him in the stomach.

He released her and flipped back a few feet. His face showed no emotion but his eyes betrayed him, showing his anger. A fight it shall be then. No mercy.

In a flash he attacked. His movements untraceable to the human eye. He reached and grabbed a leg and an arm and threw her into a nearby tree. A loud crack and thud could be heard throughout the small area they were in.

He attacked yet again. Picked her up out of the ruble by the neck and held her up so her feet were not touching the ground. His poison finger glowing waiting, itching to pierce her skin and finish her off.

Rinko was about to help his sister but Tiko held up a hand to stop him.

“Just watch. This battle is not over just yet!”

He stopped but was still very tense. Ready to help out if necessary.

Sesshomaru’s anger slowly began to fade as he watched the demoness in pain. He knew that if he pierced her skin just a little bit she would be fatally injured. So he had to be careful. He wasn’t really going to do it; he just wanted to see the reaction of the brothers. But something wasn’t right.

She opened her eyes and looked at him. To his surprise she was calm. He could not sense any pain from her. But taking another look he noticed her eyes. They had changed from the normal blue, they had changed to a pure white and she slowly began to glow.

He felt a weird sensation come over him. He couldn’t tell whether it was good or bad but it wasn’t normal. A bright flash caused them all to cover their eyes. It lasted a few seconds and then faded. When they opened their eyes, Kagome was laying on the floor all her cuts and burses healed unconscious. The brothers when they saw Kagome and saw she was ok turned their attention to Sesshomaru.

He had been thrown back into a tree and he too lay against it unconscious.

What just happened?

The two brothers looked at each other and then at the two. They were very confused.

They were about to go over and help their sister but again they were stopped. They both awoke and jumped into a fighting stance. Again facing off. To the brothers again were surprised. What is going on?

Sesshomaru raised both hands in his stance. Ready to attacked when he stopped. Both hands? He came out of his stance and stared at his two clawed hands.

How? Why?

He looked at Kagome, who had also come out of her stance, and was staring at him as well.

Did she? No. How can that be possible? Unless …

“Wench are you a miko?”

She rolled her eyes and growled.

“I do not answer to wench, women, or any other profound name that you will call me. I simply go by Kagome. As I have told you before my lord.”

He growled. “Women should know their place. Apparently you do not.”

She looked at him. “What do you mean women should know their place?”

“To start off women do not ask questions, they do not talk to back to a man, and they most certainly do not start a fight against a man. They are below men and are not equals by any means. You should be wise and learn this wench.”

She growled again and attacked.

This time her attacks were more fierce. Sesshomaru blocked every punch and kick, but at the same time was pushed back a step until he was backed into a tree.  She delivered one more kick which threw him through the tree. She landed as he hit the ground. And just stared at him.

“I will not be spoken to like that. Whether you like it or not I am not just some ordinary demoness you can boss around. I am a lady of the South, the next ..”

“Kagome no. You mustn’t not yet it isn’t time!” Tiko called quickly.

“No. I will not be treated in this way. No matter the title you do not treat a women with that kind of disrespect!” She turned and looked at Sesshomaru again.

He stood and stared at her.

“Learn you place wench.” Was all he said.

She growled.

A pink glow surrounded her body. “I will not be spoken to like that by anyone. Not even a pompous ass like you. I am a lady of South and the next heir to the throne. You should do well to respect that!” the last part she yelled and a blast of pink energy shot out at Sesshomaru.

As the light faded Kagome once again lay on the floor unable to move and breathing hard. The blast knocked everything out of her. Sesshomaru this time again against a tree but no harm had come to him. He only stared at her. No emotion could be seen in his face or his eyes. None.

In a flash he was on her and pinned her to a nearby tree.

Still panting, her anger for him could seen clearly. A pink glow surrounded her body.

“You have no energy left. You can’t beat me wench.”

He sensed the power begin to grow slowly stronger but he still urged her on. He knew, she knew. She had no energy left in her body to do any damage to an outside object but she could hurt herself badly if she didn’t stop.

She cursed chokingly.

Why is she trying so hard? What is it going to prove? She can’t beat me. She healed me. She gave me my arm back. Why is this so important to her. She will die if she doesn’t stop

I will not .. I will not be a push over anymore. I will not be a nobody. I am Kagome. I am not Kikyo. Why couldn’t he see that? Why am I just a reincarnation of her to him. He couldn’t see past that!

“Stop this now Kagome.” Sesshomaru said as he slowly set her back on her feet.

She wobbled a bit and fell back against the tree. She would have slid down the tree but two hands at her waist kept her steady.

“You will hurt yourself worse than your already are. You could kill yourself with the power you are trying to harness.”

“Why? Why do you even care what happens to me?”

He looked at her. She was strong. Stronger than she realizes. But she was hurt. Who, who could do something that this to her? She would rather risk her life and die, than go on living. She doesn’t’ want to be a nobody.

He took a step closer to her.

“Kagome.” Was all he said. He couldn’t think of anything to tell her. He could not comfort her. He didn’t know how.

Tears fell freely down her face and she looked at him. Their eyes locked. For the first time she felt like someone saw her. The real her. He saw Kagome.

She came out of her stupor and silently gasped. He was only inches from her face and their eyes were still locked. She tried to move but she just couldn’t. It was then that she realized his thumb slowly wiping a tear away. The touch alone would drive any women mad but this touch was soft and comforting. She knew that he could not comfort her with words but he found a way. Small though it may be it was still his way of comforting her and it surprised her to no end.

She tried to move again but realized that her legs wouldn’t budge. Her legs felt like jelly and her heart beat loudly in her ears. She could feel his hot breath on her face as he continued to inch closer. Oh no.

“Let her be.”

“Let her be” a voice ran out from outside the small clearing.

The voice was deep and smooth. It rang out into the silence, startling Kagome. She jumped not only at the voice but at the growl that came from Sesshomaru. She looked at him.

How? How can this be? Sesshomaru is not … he doesn’t have emotions. He can’t show anything. Why would he care about me? Why would his touch be so soft? I don’t understand him.

Sesshomaru’s growl surprised him, just as it had surprised Kagome. He had treated her with kindness and he didn’t know why. He didn’t like the sight of her crying; it had a strange effect on him.

He pulled away slowly and closed his eyes.

“What are you doing in my lands Lord Roki?” Sesshomaru asked, his cold, stoic voice returning.

A smile spread across his face and he bowed.

“Forgive me Lord Sesshomaru, but as it appears I have found my sons coming from this direction. They have informed me of my daughters’ return; I have come to escort her home but as it appears she already has an escort.” His smirk widened.

Sesshomaru may have mastered his emotions locked his face and posture in a stoic form but he cannot hide what his eyes portray. I know that his inner demon desires her. It always had.

By looking at him, no human could tell of the family relations between him and Kagome. He was tall, even by demon standards, had long black hair falling to his lower back, and his red eyes stood out beneath this bangs. He wore a black kimono with a gold dragon and stitching. He wore no armor but did have two swords crossed on his back.

His smirked widened when he noticed Sesshomaru’s hands on her waist. He had a fairly good idea of what happened. Sesshomaru and she were always battling to see who would be the most dominant but that was before she had full control of her miko powers. Since he had to send her away before she could fully master them, he could only come to one conclusion. She had used all her miko powers when they were fighting apparently some stuff happened in between the time they stopped and his arrival that led to Sesshomaru holding her by the waist.

“Forgive me my lord, it’s been so long since I have seen my daughter that when I found out she had returned I sent my sons to help her but I got worried when I found my sons returning without her.” He said as he bowed low.

“D… d … dad?” Kagome asked.

Roki looked at his daughter with a smile and nodded his head.

Her eyes widened.

Kagome began to wobble and her breathing picked up. Her eyes shut half way closed and she fell. Sesshomaru saw her fall and caught her in his arms. He adjusted her a little until he had one arm under her neck and the other underneath her knees.

“You both will soon need something much stronger than the battle for dominance, it only will get rougher before it gets better. The truth will soon be relieved to you.” And Roki was gone.

Sesshomaru stared of in the direction he had taken off

What did he mean? Something much stronger than the battle for dominance? It only gets rougher before it gets better? It can’t mean …

Sango sat next to Miroku by the fire.

Everything had been prepared for their journey tomorrow and now all they were to do was get some sleep, but earlier events kept the tension between them high and very uncomfortable.

She was cursing Inuyasha under her breath. She was still pissed off at him for what he did to Kagome.

“LISTEN SANGO IF YOU GOT SOMETHIN’ TO SAY, SAY IT!” He yelled as he stood up.

“WE’LL INUYASHA IT WILL BE TO HARD FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND IF I TELL IT TO YA STRAIGHT SO I’LL PUT IN WORDS YOU CAN UNDERSTAND……. YOU ARE AN INCOMPETENT HALF-BREED THAT IS POWER HUNGRY AND IF YOUWEREN’T SUCH AN ASSHOLE AND RELISED WHAT YOU DID, KAGOME WOULD STILL BE HERE” Sango yelled.

“WHAT!! HOW THE HELL CAN YOU SAY THAT, KAGOME RAN OFF ON HER OWN AND” He stopped when Sango cut him off.

“AND IT WAS BECAUSE OF YOU THAT SHE RAN AWAY AND WOULDN’T HAVE DONE THAT, IF NOT FOR YOU! She loved you Inuyasha….couldn’t  you see that!? It’s All Your FAULT!!” She snapped at him.

“She isn’t Kikyo. She could never be compared to her.”

“No. No she couldn’t only because Kagome is a better person than that whore. She trusted you, she followed you, and she freed you from that damn tree that the stupid bitch next to you locked you to in the first place. You are so stupid if you believe you can compare Kagome to her. SO STUPID!!” she said.

And before he could say anymore she stormed off into the woods, Miroku followed a short time after.

Inuyasha stared blankly after them.

Was she was right? Was it his fault that Kagome ran away? What if she was injured or dead? Would he then be at fault?  No! She ran away on her own! But, why do I feel like it is my fault.

‘because it is idiot!’ a voice inside his head told him, ‘she ran away because of what you said and did with Kikyo, she was there but, you ignored her to be with the undead miko, your such a baka!’ and all was quiet.

The voice in his head was right, it was his fault that Kagome left, all his fault, but, would he ever admit it to Sango, Miroku or Shippou.

Kikyo wrapped her arms around him as he sat thinking. He quickly came out of his thoughts at the action. He looked at her and growled softly. He pushed her away, got up and walked into the woods, leaving a very angry miko by the fire.

It didn’t take him long to find the couple because of his demon senses but, he heard them talking about him, so he just ignored them.

“Look Sango, I know that sometimes I can be an idiot,  its just that.” Inuyasha started.

“I don’t care Inuyasha!” She yelled, “Kagome is my friend, she ran off into the forest without any protection. She could be hurt or worse. For all we know she could be dead!”

Tears began to form in Sango’s eyes.

Inuyasha couldn’t say anything, she was right Kagome could be dead and it was his fault.

“Sango……..I’ll help you find her. I will go with you. I won’t quit until we find her!” Inuyasha said.

“You really mean it, you won’t abandon us half way, to be with Kikyo or just leave because you got tired of looking for her?” Sango asked.

Inuyasha only nodded and left.

Kagome opened her eyes. She had no idea where she was. She began to look around the room and then quickly jumped up and quickly laid back down. She was on a very soft and comfortable bed, in a giant room, in what she thought was a castle.

The room itself had to have been 3 time s bigger than hers and the ceiling was so high that she almost couldn’t see it. There was a fireplace to the right, a balcony  opposite of the bed, a huge door on the left, and a smaller door opposite of that.

She tried to sit up again but with no success, she had a throbbing headache and her shoulder hurt pretty badly.

She figured that it was from where Tiko bit her.

She tried to remember what had happened before she passed out.

She remembered that she was fighting Sesshomaru, then he pinned her between him and a tree, then he got close, very close, and then a demon came stopping him before he could do anything.  

The demon…..that demon was her………her father!  She remembered her father and her brothers….she remembered!!

But, wait Sesshomaru, what happened to him.

Just as she finished the thought the door to the left of her opened and in walked Sesshomaru, who closed the door behind him.

“So you’re finally awake.” He said with no sign of expression on his face.
